Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
The nostalgic paddle steamboat Simplon is part of the historic 140 year old Belle Epoque Fleet which plys the calm blue green waters of of Lake Geneva. A large, powerful boat, with room for 850 people, this particular vessel was commissioned around 100 years ago and is as popular today as it was when it first graced the Swiss lake. Seen here with the city spires of Geneva old town as a backdrop, the Simplon is an inviting sight, who wouldn't want to sail on this grand old dame. I hand blended a little texture with my original photograph in black and white, to compliment the old world feel of this classic Lake Geneva scene.
I'm a travel photographer and photo artist. I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
